What’s for Breakfast?
An Environmental Print Class Project
Your child can have fun learning to read even when books are not available. “Environmental Print” is the print that is around him/her every day. It’s the words your child sees on street signs, signs on buildings, the store shelves, while in the check out line, or anywhere there are words.
Many children see cereal boxes every day. They can be a
good way to develop the desire to learn to read because
they are colorful, interesting and inviting to young readers.
We will be doing a project with cereal boxes. I will need your help. Could you please over the next few weeks, send in the front part of the box of cereal that your child likes the most. It is possible to cut the front part of the box without destroying the box itself. We just need the front side.
Thanks for your help with this environmental print project!
Mrs. Bernard
