Muffins for Mom’s - Tomorrow moms are invited to join us from 11:00am – 12:00pm. We will be playing some fun games together and enjoying some yummy muffins made just for you.
Children’s wish Pledge sheets – Just a reminder to send in your pledge sheet as soon as possible. All sheets need to be accounted for. Even if you were unable to collect pledges, please send in the form.
Wish Walk – On Friday students will take part in the Children’s Wish Walk. Please make sure that your child is dressed properly for the weather. We will be outside for most of the day. Friday afternoon students will be watching the Gulf Shore’s Got Talent Show. Should be a great day!
Sunscreen and hats – We will be spending more time outside in the coming weeks. If you would like your child to wear sunscreen during the day, please send a bottle in with your child’s name on it. I usually apply sunscreen before our lunch time recess. If you would like your child to have sunscreen for first recess, it would be a good idea to apply it in the morning before school.
Math – We will continue to work on combining sets up to ten. We will also be focusing on the skill of “counting on”. This is the ability to count forward or backwards from a given number, without needing to start back at one. It is an important mental math strategy. We also have been working on mass, using a balance to build a vocabulary about our observations.
Social Studies – We will continue to work on our mapping unit as well as our focus on how our families are unique and special.
Science – We will be working with magnets. We will explore what they are all about.
Literacy – We have been working on some non fiction texts in guided reading. You will be seeing them come home over the next few weeks. We have been working on a shared reading book called “To Town”
this book highlights different modes of transportation. We have an independent reading bin in the classrooms that have many books that are leveled for the children to read on their own. They are able to practice their reading strategies with these books.

Moving up Night (Year end potluck) – June 19th, 6:15 pm.
~To complete our Family Unique unit, I would like to once again extend an invitation to any parents who would like to come in and share a special talent, hobbies or give a little talk about you job. You could also read a favorite story, magic trick, yoga or whatever you can think of. We are flexible about the time. So far most families have been coming in at the end of the day for 15- 20 minutes. Please contact me if you are interest in joining us. J
Wow! What a busy year end it is shaping up to be!

A Trip to the fire station
Here are a few Pictures to the fire station. We had lots of fun and learned a lot about fire safety. My camera battery did not last long. I'll add some of Ms. Brownlow's pictures when I receive them.

April Fun
For Earth Day we adopted a tree near the outdoor
classroom. We will visit our tree each week and
do some sketching to watch it change
Each of us picked a special tree
We named our trees and spent some time getting to know them
Working our our Spring Mural
Pretty cute when everyone spontaneously decides to read together
We have started talking about measurement
Measuring with Cube A Links
Working with our math partners to get the job done!
Memories from our Art Show...What a great night
Even the G.S. shark was ready to get into art
Creating the art in the art bunker was lots of fun
Never feel bad about your dirty sink again!
Some sharing time in the art bunker
These are the boxes that the art for the gallery comes in
Hard at work in the gallery, doing some sketching
While in the gallery we got to do a treasure hunt
We learned about the special lighting
Pretty cool spot to have snack
Learning about the special seats that absorb sound
Heaver than it looks!
Flipper feet
How to breath
Brought to us by the PEI Council of People with Disabilities
Roots of Empathy - Getting ready for baby Callum's next visit
We had a great time snacking and sharing some of our favorite stories
