CHICKA CHICKA BOOM BOOM!

We have been working on a book called Chicka, Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr.  Here is a link so that you and your child can enjoy this story at home together.  Stay tuned for some Chicka, Chicka art work!

Today we started sorting!

The first step to become a great sorter is to find out which item does not belong.  We started our math time today with this fun video... Some grown up's at home may remember this one!

10 Questions to ask your child about their day at school

The trick is to ask about things that are specific, but still open-ended. Move beyond "fine" and "nothing" by asking your child to describe his world. It's also great to start the conversation with an anecdote from your own day. Try one of these conversation-starters:
  1. Tell me about the best part of your day.
  2. Did you have gym, music or french today?
  3. What did you write about today?
  4. Tell me about what you read in class.
  5. Who did you play with today? What did you play?
  6. What centre did you work in at choice time?
  7. Were you a good listener today?  What do good listeners do?
  8. What rules are different at school than our rules at home?
  9. Who did you sit with at lunch?
  10. Can you show me something you learned (or did) today?

Welcome

I would like to extend a welcome to all my new Gulf Shore students and their families.  Welcome to Mrs. Bernard’s Kindergarten Blog!  It is my hope that you will be able to view our classroom blog and feel a bit more a part of your child’s day.
